Draft problems: THE Alliance re-routes three Asia -USEC loops from Panama to the Suez Canal
Since the Panama Canal Authority has announced that it will have to further cut down the number of daily transits as of January, with slots for the neo-panamax locks to be reduced from eight to five per day, the members of THE Alliance (THEA) have decided to re-route all their Asia – USEC services through Suez on westbound voyages to America.
The re-routing will affect three services: EC1, EC2 and EC6.
