We’re continuing to work closely with shipping lines to understand how our customers are being affected by the pausing of Red Sea merchant shipping due to shipping vessel attacks.
Looking at the activity in the area, we can see some ships are already being rerouted around the Cape of Good Hope, while others have anchored, waiting for further news. We have received news this morning that there may also be disruption to feeder ships along the route.
Yesterday, our team focused on providing customers with a RAG status on their orders, while we continue to seek further clarification from shipping lines on vessel delays.
We have seen news about Operation Prosperity Guardian, which has coordinated warships moving into the area to protect ships sailing through the Red Sea, and we are hopeful that this international cooperation may provide some relief to the situation in the coming days.
We also now have developed a summary of alternative solutions such as trucking, rail and air. If you are interested in discussing your options, space availability and rates, please reach out to your main point of contact so that we can help you find the right solution for your supply chain.
