Due to the ongoing farmers’ protest march from Noida to Delhi Parliament, significant traffic disruptions are anticipated near the Delhi borders. The Gautam Budh Nagar Police has issued the below advisory on social media to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience to commuters:
Affected Areas:
- Noida-Delhi Border: Major congestion and potential road closures at key border points.
- Delhi-NCR Roads: Disruptions on arterial roads leading to Delhi.
Impact on Heavy Vehicles:
- Delays and Restrictions: Heavy vehicles may face significant delays or restrictions on affected routes.
- Route Diversions: It is strongly advised to avoid the protest routes and opt for alternative routes.
Alternative Routes for Heavy Vehicles:
- Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE):
- A viable option to bypass Delhi and reach destinations in North India.
- Consider using the EPE to connect to other national highways.
- Western Peripheral Expressway (WPE):
- Useful for heavy vehicles traveling to Haryana, Punjab, and other northwestern states.
- Utilise the WPE to avoid Delhi and its surrounding areas.
- State Highways and Local Roads:
- Explore state highways and local roads as potential detours but need to be aware of potential congestion and road conditions.
As precautions action plan, alternate routes been introduced for heavy vehicle transportation and NO MAJOR impact been informed so far regarding the cargo movements.
