This week marks the beginning of the launch of the Gemini Alliance (Hapag-Lloyd / Maersk) shipments, which has led to increased volumes moving through London Gateway.
Our Transport team have been closely monitoring port operations, with particular focus on vehicle turnaround and rail efficiency. We are aware that some suppliers have experienced turnaround times of up to six hours. In addition, rail infrastructure challenges and limited-service availability.
As always, we continue to assess and address operational issues to ensure we maintain a comprehensive understanding of performance across all ports of entry.
On Thursday 3 April, our team visited London Gateway. While the port’s scale and resources are capable of managing increased use, we expect some short-term disruption as operations adjust to these increased volumes—a natural part of any significant transition.
We are confident that, with our strong supplier network and dedicated transport and CS team, we are well-positioned to manage these changes effectively.
If you have any concerns or would like to discuss your transport arrangements further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
