As we approach a series of public holidays across Asia, we want to share an update on potential impacts to supply chains and delivery services in the region and globally.
Victory Day & Labour Day (April 30 & May 1)
Vietnam will observe Victory Day on April 30 and Labour Day on May 1, both of which are national holidays. During this period:
Business Closures: Most factories, ports, and transport and supply chain providers will close or operate on limited schedules.
Service Delays: Temporary delays in customs clearance, shipment dispatch, and delivery are expected.
Regional Impact: These disruptions may affect intra-Asia supply chains and broader global routes involving Vietnamese exports or components.
Labour Day – May 1
Labour Day is observed across these markets, with the following anticipated impacts:
China: A public holiday break typically occurs from May 1–5. Many manufacturers and logistics providers will pause or scale back operations.
Hong Kong: Offices and transport services will be closed on May 1.
India: Labour Day is observed in many states, which may result in localised service disruptions and staffing shortages.
Rest of World: While Labour Day is not universally observed on May 1, global shipments moving through or connected to these markets may encounter short-term delays.
What to Expect:
Potential Delays: Reduced staffing and limited operations may impact shipping timelines and service availability.
Advance Planning Advised: We recommend booking shipments early and allowing for additional lead time during this period.
