As of yesterday the Chinese government brought in a new procedure for ALL medical products.
CIQ (Commodity, Inspection and Quarantine). This new process means the factory has to send a product sample from each order for CIQ inspection. The government will approve or come and inspect the shipment prior to issuing the CIQ pass number which is now required for export customs clearance. The CIQ approval process can take 3-10 days. To avoid delays we recommend customers provide all factory contact details in advance so we can check all documents & CIQ approval is in place.
Customs are inspecting all documentation and goods if they state medical. If the cargo is declared as non-medical they could inspect the cargo. The cartons will be opened to check the packaging and product. If the product or packaging refers to medical the shipment will be stopped.
