A country-wide lockdown has now been implemented in Malaysia, running from 12th May through to 7th June, with the expectation that this may be extended.
The economic sector is permitted to operate with limited staff and 30% of management.
- All shipping lines and airlines are working from home
- Air and seaports are operating as normal
- Customs are operating with limited staff
- Banks are operating with limited staff
There is a backlog at ports due to vessels berthing and departing late and the information flow of ATDs / ATAs is delayed. Bookings, revisions and email communication with shipping lines is slower than normal.
We advise that shipments are booked 3-4 weeks in advance and that any cancellations are addressed 7 working days before CY cut off to avoid late cancellation penalties.
We are continuing to monitor the situation in Malaysia and will provide updates when they are available.
To discuss any specific bookings, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer teams.
