As the Port of Felixstowe continues to feel the strains of severe congestion, additional pressure is now being put on already congested European ports.
Maersk has advised that its larger vessels will not currently be calling at Felixstowe and will instead discharge at European ports. Feeder vessels will then be used to transport cargo to the UK.
Other carriers have also made similar changes in their schedules.
With space on feeder vessels now also oversubscribed, containers bound for the UK are piling up and onward journeys are being delayed.
Our supply chain and logistics experts continue to monitor the situation closely. If you have any enquiries regarding specific bookings please don't hesitate to contact our Customer teams.
