We have received the below notification from the Port of Brisbane:
I'd like to take this moment to express PBPL's sincere hope that you, your family, loved ones and work colleagues are safe during this challenging time.
As always, safety comes first for PBPL, so wherever you are - be it at the Port of Brisbane or elsewhere - please ensure you and everyone around you is safe.
I write this morning to update you on the impacts of this flooding crisis in relation to the Port of Brisbane at this point in time:
Operational Update and Next 24 hours
- Currently, the Regional Harbour Master (RHM) has declared no movements in and out of the Port. However, this is being reviewed on a case-by-case basis in the first instance
- PBPL will begin surveying critical navigational areas, including the channel, swing basins and berth pockets, as soon as it is safe to do so this morning (under the direction of the RHM)
- PBPL is also working with the RHM on a plan to remove debris in and around waterside infrastructure
Landside access
- There is an element of minor/superficial damage on a number of port roads, across all precincts
- PBPL's Infrastructure Team is assessing damage this morning
- It's understood there are no access limitations on port roads at the moment
- There are no rail movements in and out of the BMT due to broader rail network issues, however the BMT itself remains operational.
You may also be aware that a vessel broke its lines last night. Thanks to the swift response from Maritime Safety Queensland, Water Police, Svitzer tugs and PBPL's Operations Teams, the vessel is now safely in Moreton Bay, with the aim of moving it to anchorage when its deemed safe to do so. I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all those involved in the operation during the early hours of this morning.
Here at Ligentia we’re monitoring the situation closely. If you have enquiries about specific bookings, please don’t hesitate to contact your Customer team.
