A situation is currently developing in Sri Lanka, with protests breaking out across the country due to inflation rates continuing to rise. Yesterday evening, the President and Prime Minister dissolved their cabinets and are now exploring possible contingency plans.
Increasing inflation rates have resulted in fuel and electricity shortages in Sri Lanka, with fuel shortages becoming increasingly frequent over the last few days. This has caused prolonged waiting times at fuel stations, as well as local shipment delays.
It is expected that shortages will ease over the next few days.
So far, air and ocean freight arrivals and departures have not been affected.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will keep customers updated.
