Felixstowe Port have advised that instead of reopening at midnight on Monday 29 August, they will instead be reopening slots from 8am Tuesday 30 August due to the strike action leading into the bank holiday.
Subsequently any deliveries which haven’t been pre-loaded/moved off quay, will not be collected until 8am Tuesday for delivery PM or next day onwards. Even PM deliveries are at risk as it is likely Felixstowe port will become a chaotic scene at reopening and with very long turnaround times/lack of VBS slots.
Concerning strike action - we’ve been advised should no agreement come to pass, the port operational staff will continue to stop working 1 weekday every 2 weeks (exact day of the week unknown at this stage).
Transport Bookings & CS Traffic will continue to do what they can to mitigate disruption and plan ahead.
We’ll continue to update you once we know further information.
