Unite has said workers at the Port of Felixstowe will strike from 7am Tuesday 27 September until 6.59am on Wednesday 5 October, in what will be their second eight-day strike this year.
Unite represents around 1,900 workers at Felixstowe and their most recent strike - the first since 1989 - was an eight-day walk-out in August.
This latest action coincides with a two-week walkout by workers at the port of Liverpool from 19 September to 3 October.
Our teams have already been in discussions with local storage provides who – as with the first strike at Felixstowe – will provide vital support to manage operations during this challenging period. We are currently in the process of reviewing all arrivals / bookings and will be in touch as soon as possible regarding any deliveries that may be affected.
Please note, it is important that customers are prepared for the CDS migration to ensure boxes are customs cleared and therefore available to move. Customers should have received information on steps to be ready for this, however please reach out to your dedicated Ligentia contact should you have any questions.
During this period of migration, there is a risk of delays.
