Our dedicated partner in Bangladesh has shared the below update with us:
The land depression over South Madhya Pradesh and the adjoining area of India has moved West North-westwards and weakened a well-marked low over the same area at 12 noon on 12 September 2022. It is expected to move West-North-westwards further and weaken gradually.
Under its influence, deep convection is taking place over North Bay and the adjoining area. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports of North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
Rain/thunder accompanied by temporary S/SE’LY gusty/squally wind (45-60 KPH) is likely to occur over the regions of RANGPUR, DINAJPUR, RAJSHAHI, PABNA, BOGURA, TANGAIL, MYMENSINGH, DHAKA, FARIDPUR, KUSHTIA, JASHORE, KHULNA, BARISHAL, PATUAKHALI, CUMILLA, NOAKHALI, CHATTOGRAM, COX’S BAZAR and SYLHET.
There is currently no impact on the CFS and Chittagong Port operation and everything is running smoothly. We will continue to keep you updated as the situation develops.
