Prompted by slowing demand, the US-based operator Matson this month ended its China-California Express CCX. Matson had launched this loop in July of 2021 to meet booming cargo demand on the Tanspacific trade lane.
Matson initially announced the CCX as a temporary third China to US West Coast link – adding to the carriers CLX and CLX+ services. The new offer was meant to offer a ‘temporary expedited” transport solution for customers in Oakland and Southern California during a period of major service disruptions and a massive vessel delays on the USWC.
The last CCX sailing was offered on 9th Sep from Shanghai with the 2,890TEU MANUKAI, which arrived at Long Beach on 20th Sep to discharge her cargo from Asia.(Source: Alphaliner)
