Please note we have now received the below notification from IFCBAA:
SVITZER’S lockout of its employees will not go ahead, the Fair Work Commission advised this evening (17 November). The hearing remains underway and the commission is considering whether to terminate Svitzer’s protected industrial action or suspend it although according to a statement to customers from Svitzer, the FWC made it clear it would issue an order before midday tomorrow (18 November).
The three maritime unions withdrew notices of protected industrial action that were due to take place today (17 November) which included work stoppages of 24 hours, 12 hours and four hours at ports around the country.
Port operations and shipping movements will continue as normal.
