DP World Southampton: Upcoming roadworks affecting VBS users 09/01/23

Please note the below information from DP World Southampton:

We would like to bring to your attention to the below roadwork notices from National Highways and Hampshire City Council, which will affect the road network as you approach the DP World Southampton terminal from January onwards.

National Highways:

"We’re carrying out some resurfacing on the M271 between the Nursling Interchange and Redbridge Roundabout.

There will be overnight closures in both directions at different times between Monday 9 January and Saturday 4 February 2023. We’ll also need to close the northbound exit and southbound entry slips at Nursling Interchange.

Closure information

Southbound – Monday 9 to Saturday 21 January 2023

The M271 will be closed southbound from Nursling Interchange to Redbridge Roundabout on weeknights (10pm to 6am) from Monday 9 January 2023 to the morning of Saturday 21 January 2023. The southbound entry slip at Nursling Interchange will also be closed.

Northbound – Monday 23 January 2023 to Saturday 4 February 2023

The M271 will be closed northbound from the Redbridge Roundabout to Nursling Interchange on weeknights (10pm to 6am) from Monday 23 January 2023 to the morning of Saturday 4 February 2023. The northbound exit slip at Nursling will also be closed.

Diversion information

Southbound drivers will be diverted via the M27 westbound to junction 2 and follow the A326 and A35 Totton Bypass to join at Redbridge.

Northbound drivers will be diverted via the A35 Totton Bypass and follow the A326 to Ower Interchange and follow the M27 to the M271."

Hampshire City Council:

A35 Road and Bridge Essential Works (Redbridge Causeway) 

The eastbound carriageway of the Redbridge Causeway will be reduced to one lane from 9 January until 31 March, from the approach to the Totton on-slip until the start of the off-slip to Redbridge Roundabout.
