The depression over the southeast bay and adjoining area intensified into a deep depression over the same area and was centred at 0600 PM yesterday (10 May 2023) about 1420 kms South of Chattogram port, 1340 kms South of Cox’s Bazar Port, 1400 kms South-Southeast of Mongla port and 1360 kms South-Southeast of Payra Port. It is likely to intensify further and move in a North-North-westerly direction till 11 May 2023. Thereafter, it is likely to recurve gradually and move North-North-eastwards.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number Two.
Until now there is no impact on Chittagong Port and CFS operations and NO impact on any shipments.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates when available.
